Pat Keys Office Manager Pat Keyes is an indispensable member of the Central staff. A former teacher with a master's degree in special education from Northern Illinois University, Pat worked for churches and church organizations in the Episcopal and Lutheran denominations before coming to Central in 1995. Pat handles all kinds of administrative tasks, publishes the weekly newsletter, and occasionally teaches classes. Pat has two children and enjoys reading and needlework. She and husband Peter met and married at Central and now attend Fountain City United Methodist.


James Scruggs Central's newest staff member is James Scruggs, who became the custodian in November 2007. James is a high school graduate of the Alabama School for the Deaf. He describes himself as a "Jack-of-all-trades," with the exception of roof work. When he's not working, he enjoys fishing, camping, and traveling and is a NASCAR fan. James and his wife Pat have three children between them, one of whom is serving in the Army in Afghanistan, and four grandchildren.

Bill Hutton Bill Hutton, a member of Central UMC for fifteen years, is responsible for security but prefers the title of "Minister of Grounds and Facilities." Bill coordinates with groups using the building, ensuring their safety and good stewardship of our facility. After almost 40 years in technical and field service work, Bill has traveled to 49 states, 23 countries, and 3 continents, adding Honduras recently while honeymooning with his new bride Susan. Bill has 2 grown children, and 5 grandchildren. A recent graduate of Pellissippi State in Web Site Development, he also works on the website team.

Billie Morgan Billie Morgan presides over the kitchen at Central. She has served as church hostess since 1995, preparing the food for congregational meals and special events. (Her yeast rolls have gained quite a reputation.) Billie graduated from Young High School. She's married to Bill, and they have two daughters and three granddaughters. She attends Meridian Baptist Church, where she helps her daughter cook for that congregation.
