Worship

CommunionSunday worship service is held each week at 10:45 a.m. in the second floor sanctuary, following Sunday School at 9:30. The Sunday worship follows a traditional format, with congregational hymns, readings, sermon, and a variety of special music by pipe organ, choir, handbells or other musicians. Both pastor and lay persons help conduct the service.

Communion is usually celebrated on the first Sunday of the month, as well as on special occasions. In keeping with the beliefs of the United Methodist Church on communion, the Lord´s table is open to all who love Christ, who repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another. No one is refused, nor is anyone forced to participate.

In addition to the Sunday services, special services are usually held on other occasions. These include Advent, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, and Maundy Thursday. Central UMC joins other community churches for Thanksgiving and Good Friday services.
