Chancel Choir

    The Chancel Choir, under the direction of George Hayden, offers a variety of music for Sunday worship in a joyous ministry of song. In addition to selections performed by the entire choir, members may sing solos, duets, or in small ensembles. Musical instruments, in addition to piano and organ, are incorporated into the musical offerings. The Christmas Cantata is a major undertaking, often including a small orchestra. Three soloists–Jessica Presley (soprano), Marc Hampton (tenor), and Freddie Brabson (baritone)-- enhance the other voices. The choir receives some additional financial support from donations to the "Special Music" fund.

    The choir rehearses each Wednesday evening from 7 until 8. The rehearsals are informal, full of fellowship, and productive. New choir members are always welcome, as are those who join just for the Christmas music or to perform an occasional vocal or instrumental contribution. According to the director, "Everyone needs church, and it is therefore easy to find a church that YOU need. But, when you find a church THAT NEEDS YOU, then that is real service! Our choir needs you!"
